What's Healthier About a Straighter Smile?
Orthodontic therapy involves the process of shifting your teeth to accomplish proper, functional, and healthy tooth alignment. Thanks to traditional braces and Invisalign, correcting your bite will result in more than just giving you an attractive smile.
Why You Should Straighten Your Teeth
Poorly aligned teeth can contribute to problems like:
-
Receding gums
-
Gum disease
-
Increased root-surface cavities
-
Cold sensitivity
-
Chipped or fractured teeth
-
Tooth loss
In addition to an attractive smile, having straight teeth will reduce your risk of developing cavities and gum disease. And when your bite (occlusion) is properly aligned, you can break down food more easily, and avoid irregular wear or chipping in your tooth enamel.
Types of Orthodontic Treatment We Offer
In Winner you can choose between traditional braces or Invisalign:
Traditional Braces
This orthodontic system consists of using a metal bracket on the front of each tooth and running a special archwire through each one to connect them. Over the course of your treatment, we’ll adjust the wire, allowing your teeth to move into the desired position. The typical treatment time for braces is usually somewhere around 12 months, but can vary from 6-24 months depending on the individual’s needs.
Invisalign Clear Aligners
Invisalign is quite different than traditional braces. Rather than using metal brackets and wires, you’ll wear a series of clear plastic aligners over your teeth. These trays are nearly invisible and the fact that they are very rigid helps to coax your teeth into the desired position from multiple angles. Every two weeks you’ll transition to a new pair of aligners which will continue to move your teeth along as your treatment progresses. Invisalign straightens teeth a bit faster than traditional braces, with the average length of time being six to 12 months.
With Invisalign, home care is simple and you never have to change your diet; just remove your trays during meals.
Orthodontics For The Whole Family
Aligners and braces aren’t just limited to children and teenagers. Adults can benefit from a straight smile too.
